and am passionate about helping people take a proactive approach to their mental health and overall wellbeing.
I am also a television professional with over 20 years of experience producing live, national broadcasts, and have 2 young kids and an energetic dog. Life is busy!
Unfortunately I have experienced clinical burnout before. But at the time, I didn't want that to define me or be the end of my story. So through my own coaching journey and study, I learnt a few key things:
1 - I was on a hamster wheel. Life's hamster wheel. It's very easy to get on, and just go through the motions each day. But that is not what life is supposed to be like.
There's such a more rich and
rewarding life to be lived.
2 - I was not living my life in line with my values. Heck - I didn't even know what my values were! Who has time for values?!
3 - It's not normal to constantly feel tired, stressed, have headaches and sleep badly (and rely on coping mechanisms such as alcohol use!). In fact, those were signs telling me everything wasn't ok.
Now I have a very clear picture of what's important to me and how I want to exist in this world. I am able to control my own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and achieve things that I want to achieve.
It is a very powerful feeling!
My findings shape the focus of the work I do here at ARC Mindset and Wellbeing -
Educate and empower people to protect their mental health, achieve their wellbeing goals and live with purpose.
